Merlin ERD to Present at SPE Workshop in Bahrain
Merlin ERD is delighted to be presenting at the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) workshop in Manama, Bahrain on the 27th and 28th of February 2019.
The SPE is a not-for-profit professional association whose 156,000 members worldwide are engaged in oil and gas exploration and production.
The focus of the Bahrain workshop is Aligning New Technology and Best Practices for Delivering Critical Wells. It aims to highlight the path to achieving operational excellence and how technology can and should be used to support improvements in project value.
The two-day meeting is hosted by Tatweer Petroleum and attended by Technical Managers, Engineers, Geologists, Geoscientists and Scientists from surrounding Middle East Operators and Service Companies. Merlin’s Senior ERD Engineer & Technical Development Manager, Stewart McGregor, has been invited by the committee to present at the Well Construction Optimisation session on Thursday 28th February.
He said of this role, “I am very pleased to be invited to talk to my industry peers at this event and proud to represent Merlin ERD as a recognized industry leader in extended reach, high angle and complex well drilling engineering.”
He continued, “These SPE events are essential to continued technical growth and advancement of our industry. Merlin are pleased to share our engineering experience and knowledge – hard won from working on some of the world’s most complex wells, with this technically focused audience.”
With access to easily accessible hydrocarbon reserves diminishing rapidly, it is becoming more and more important to maximise recovery around existing infrastructure. The Merlin ERD engineering team, based in Perth, Scotland, provide the know-how to enabling Operators to extract hydrocarbons from reservoirs up to 15km away from the rig by delivering world class extended reach and multi-lateral wells.
